NewsLinkin Park join Live Earth line-upLinkin Park are to headline the Tokyo leg of the forthcoming Live Earth concerts. The global gigs, which take place across all seven continents on July 7, begin a one-year campaign, spearheaded by former US presidential candidate Al Gore, to promote climate change. As well as Tokyo, shows will take place Sydney, Shanghai, Johannesburg, London, Hamburg, Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro and New York. Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda told Undercover: "Climate crisis awareness could be one of the defining issues of our generation, and we're proud to play this show in support of that effort." The concert is expected to be viewed by two billion people, and is set to be the biggest music event ever undertaken. Bands confirmed to play the London event at the newly-reopened Wembley Stadium include Beastie Boys, Snow Patrol, Madonna and Razorlight. Modest Mouse, Interpol set for Lollapalooza Modest Mouse, Interpol, CSS, MIA, TV On The Radio, Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and LCD Soundsystem will perform at this year's Lollapalooza Festival, it was announced today (April 11). The festival is set to take place August 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park. Also on board for the massive festival are Muse, Hot Chip, The View, Cold War Kids, Kanye West, Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Iggy & the Stooges, Snow Patrol, Patti Smith, Spoon, Amy Winehouse, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo, The Hold Steady, !!! and Peter, Bjorn and John. Originally a travelling festival founded by Perry Farrell in 1991, Lollapalooza now stays put in Chicago. It also includes a Kidzapalooza component, which features performances geared toward youngsters. Children under age 10 are admitted free.
